DeBernardi wins News Tribune Tournament

            Illinois Valley Community College alumnus Jeremy DeBernardi of Ottawa captured his second News Tribune Men’s Golf Tournament crown Aug. 6 at Deer Park Country Club.

            DeBernardi won the 58^th annual tournament with a two-round score of 143. A 2002 graduate, DeBernardi led a field of several former IVCC golf team members.

            Other former Eagles included Kyle Shevlin, 145, second; Brett Carlson, 150, fifth; and T.J. Templeton and Craig McConville finished in a five-way tie for sixth with 151 scores.

            Retired IVCC chemistry instructor Bill Seremak won his first Senior Class crown.
