Annual Fund Drive: Help IVCC serve all our community's students

                The IVCC Foundation’s annual fund drive helps ensure a college education is accessible to everyone in our district — regardless of income.

                Each year, dozens of hard-working IVCC students are denied much-needed financial assistance due to a lack of scholarship funding.

                Over the past two years, the annual fund drive has helped close the gap by awarding scholarships to 38 students who would not otherwise have received help.

                In this turbulent economy, demand for scholarships is high.

                “More students are having trouble financing their educations,” said IVCC Financial Aid Director Steve Crick. “We’ve seen dramatic increases over the past decade in the number of students receiving state and federal grants and taking out loans.”

                With donor support for the Annual Fund, the Foundation is able to move closer to its ultimate goal — a scholarship for every student who takes the initiative to apply.

                Tax-deductible contributions can be made through gifts of cash or securities such as stocks, bonds or mutual funds. By acting before Dec. 31, donors will not only experience the joy of giving but also tax benefits in 2009.
